Heroic myths essay

The concepts of dialectic and individuation establish the fundamental foundation of the myths of the hero. In the past centuries, various philosophers and the general school of intellectuals have ventured into the discipline of mythology due to its immense complexity in the various distinct cultural practices. Most of the mythological concepts share the same logical theme, allegory, and configuration. The similarity and relativity of the mythological concept across various cultures are due to the commonly shared collective unconscious mind in existence in a certain area. The myth of the hero entails a familiar framework across various cultures that involves a heroic subject venturing atypical and testing situations such as crossing strange geographical configuration like deserts, thick forests, and oceans in search for a particular quest.

The myths precisely depict the psychic phenomena of individuals in the society. The concept of myth in the hero is applicable to nearly all living individuals where in most cases it goes unnoticed. Personally, I have a particular encounter in my life that inherently depict the relevancy of myth of the hero in relation to the individuation and dialectic themes (My life path, chapter 3). When I was in high school, I rescued my younger sister from drowning in the bathtub. Helen was two years old and always in motion. Negativity results to deterioration of significant moral and hard work that renders the individual powerless and one becomes a victim to be rescued. The loss of my sister in the episodic tale would have severely devastated my life necessitating rescue mission.
