Personal development is the compelling factor that shapes the person an athletic administrator is coaching. As the coach ponders on how to improve the athlete, there are specific duties they must ensure are accomplished to enhance the chances of improvement from the athlete. This is because a coach is both a consultant and motivator who seeks to help the trainees achieve their goals (Zainal, 2006). Successful implementation of the duties set forth is vital to the success of the athletes and the coach too. Duty to Supervise A coach’s duty to supervise is essential. This is why the program is keen to incite the players to train as a group. It also helps in the bonding process of the entire team.

Duty to Provide Equipment Equipment are essential in the training program. According to Doleschal (2006), it is the responsibility of the coaches to guarantee the provision of fit and clean equipment. Additionally, the equipment should be safe. Instruction has to contribute to the athlete’s sports awareness, skill, and capability. Keen athletes are able to absolve maximum relatable details including safe and appropriate techniques and unsafe and inappropriate ones. The mode of delivery of instructions is a significant trait in the consequent power relationship between the trainer and trainee. It is necessary that the coach utilizes coaching behaviors that they have confidence will influence the performance of the athlete. The professional provides instructions in regards to their past experiences. Effective coaches have been known to use this method often than their less effective colleagues (Potrac, Jones, & Cushion, 2007).
