Name Lecturer’s name Course title Date This book was authored by Beuf Ann. Her main aim was to conduct a study and get some findings in matters regarding racism in the United Starts. She carried out this study in 1971 during summer. She examined how children who are Native Americans perceive themselves in regard to their race while they are in a society with so many white people. The book also looks into the social foundations of the various racial attitudes by the red children. The author also studies the impacts of interpersonal bias and the rate of racism in institutions on 229 children who are in pre-school located in mid-western and southwestern parts of the United States. It uses doll play technique and projective storytelling test to identify with their racial stand. This book helped so much in providing the true picture of how red children have been affected by racism as they live in an area dominated by the whites. Like the author said earlier there were theories that used to be there portraying that children are not affected by racism. This book is interesting as it conducted the study which actually proved that children no matter how young they are they have certain beliefs in regard to the race they belong to. It therefore means that a lot needs to be done to ensure that these red children don’t feel inferior on the basis of their race. References Beuf Ann H. Red children in white America.
