With this said, it is important for leaders to demonstrate values and foster the organization’s culture for others to follow. Leading a successful team involves much more than sending an employee a text message telling him or her that they are wonderful people. In fact, it involves realizing the team’s needs and responding to those needs promptly. In this case study, Brenda’s leadership skills have been found satisfactory in her current role but the CEO feels that that is not enough. According to the CEO, Brenda has to figure out ways through which she can become a role model to other employees, and have a direct impact on their lives. Why? A good leader should realize the need to have a one-on-one interaction with the employees to build a close relationship rather than using technology and yet they work in the same organization (DuBrin, 2015).

For Brenda to demonstrate her passionate and good leadership skills in her position, she must prove her intellectual simulation to other employees and become a role model to other workers in the organization. From the time she was assigned this duty, Brenda has been sending positive remarks to other employees telling them how wonderful they are, but this is not enough. Another reason why this approach may not succeed is that Brenda has decided to use 30 minutes during the night to send tweets and for me, this is not practical because not everyone will read these tweets sent at night. Alternative The most appropriate way through which Brenda may become a role model and influence her colleagues positively is by showing appreciation for what each employee contributes towards the success of the organization.

Proposed Solutions? Based on the approach that Brenda has taken, then, she may consider developing her own voice in Twitter such that the other employees may easily recognize her or a voice which will establish her identity in Twitter. Moreover, Brenda should identify charismatic persons in the organization and start interacting with them to learn more from them on how to relate and lead a successful team. Where appropriate, Brenda may consider including her reports in her Tweets and ensure that she tweets regularly. In this case, workers will feel that the organization values them if they realize that the company remembers them as critical components of the entity. Recommendations Can technology be used as a leadership tool? Yes, from a global perspective, technology has become a necessary tool that needs to be incorporated in an organization’s leadership because it is faster compared to other methods of communication.
