Therefore this research essay aims to establish that. “A Rose which is a subgenre of horror. Both of these gothic stories have some elements that define a gothic horror story. There is the use of supernatural powers dark localities such as crumbling mansions such as the Usher’s and Emily’s and evils of horror. In the end the key characters in the story have tragic endings such as their deaths or that of their loved once. They are forced into isolation hence develop mental illnesses which drive them to their deaths. That said these two short stories fit the description of gothic horror stories.
