NURSE MANAGER BIOGRAPHY INSTITUTION NAME Anne Jeffries is a nurse manager that I hold in high esteem because of the kind of leadership she offers in the clinical setting. Having worked with her before I was able to identify some of the aspects of effective leadership from experience and from the interview I held with Jeffries. Jeffries applies transformational leadership while working with her team of nurses- she relies on an effective communication strategy and continued motivation of employees under her leadership (Bass & Riggio 2006). Also Jeffries believes that management should be directly involved in enhancing productivity and the achievement of organizational goals. For instance Jeffries regularly meets her team of employees to remind them of the broader objectives of the organization to discuss problems and solutions affecting the workplace and to raise their morale. Also always on the lookout for employees who show signs of being dragged down by family conflict domestic violence troublesome marriages and loss of a loved one or having a sick child among other problems that could arise from the employees’ personal lives. Her approach is based on her belief that the employee needs to be assessed as an individual with a conscience rather than as a machine which should produce satisfactory results without any input from management. Jeffries takes pride in good work but is also quick to take responsibility for dismal performance at work. This is because Jeffries believes that the manager plays a pivotal role in the performance of those he or she leads. References Bass B. M. & Riggio R. E. (2006). Transformational leadership.
