The dimmed lamp did little to illuminate the dark room. In the distance she could hear the persistent indistinct chatter in the dining room. Nobody had come up to her to check on her. It had been a long fifteen minutes enough for her to get dressed and be ready for dinner. She was lonely and scared. “Sssssssss.....!” It was back again yet there was little she could do to save herself. She could neither fight back nor girl. Not knowing what was going to happen she continued to keep calm and wait for whatever was coming next. As if on standby for her cue the reptile quickly grabbed her by the throat and lifted her off the floor. Her heart was in her mouth. Suddenly she regained control over her body and made an attempt to fight one last time. She kicked and pulled but nothing happened. Little by little the grip around her neck was getting tighter and tighter. Soon she would not be able to breathe. But before she could finish that thought its mouth was open as wide as a barn door.
