According to Spalding (pg. 564), the Truman doctrine was considered unfair especially by the Soviet Union because it attracted Greece and Turkey to the western sphere of influence. As a result, war emerged between the West and the Soviets. The U. S was also responsible for the Cold War because of the Marshall Aid which was given purposely to aid in rebuilding Europe and prevent people from supporting communist ideologies. S. the foundation aimed at protecting and defending the geopolitical interests of western countries. The organization led to aggressive reactions among the Soviets which shaped the climate for the Cold War (Kroening, 2015). In summation, America’s aggressive policies acclaimed to fight communism led to conflicting ideologies between the U. S and the Soviet Union and eventually shaped the climate for the Cold War.
