It can also be defined as a legal relationship created between parties that can be used as a remedy in a court of law. It can be called a purchase order agreement or subcontract depending on the application area. Contracts describe five main aspects concerning the contractor and the owner. It describes the quality of work that is to be done or expected. Secondly contracts describe the scope of work that is done the remedies that are on in place in case the other party breaches its obligations and finally it establishes the project schedule and budget (Kelley). Contract documents are pieces of paper which can be in softcopy or in hardcopy form which not however covered in standard contracts. They may not also depict the current laws being practiced. They are not appropriate to be used in projects that are highly specialized. This will need use of complex contracts. Finally the trade associations that have the standard contract forms can be changed easily to suit the needs of the members. Works CitedKelley Gail S. Construction Law.
