The reimbursement can come from individual patients, insurers, or the government. Since reimbursement is the engine behind the success of every healthcare organization, it must be properly managed. Part A A typical healthcare organization has many departments. Some of these departments include emergency, critical care, cardiology, maternity, gynaecology, psychotherapy, surgery, and chaplaincy. Each of these departments has a direct impact on the reimbursement process within the organization. Part B A typical healthcare organization has many departments such as the pharmacy, maternity, gynaecology, dentistry, emergency, physiotherapy, nutrition, neurology, microbiology, discharge lounge, surgery, chaplaincy, breast screening, diagnostic imaging, critical care, cardiology, and aesthetics. Each of these departments has a direct influence on the reimbursement process. They influence the reimbursement process because of the services that they provide to the patients who seek medical care at the organization.
The departments can help in facilitating the reimbursement process if, at all, they diligently conduct their activities. The department's contribution can be positive if it captures accurate information and relays it time to the PFS department in time (Bojke, Grašič and Street 26). Once all the policy guidelines are adhered to, the entire reimbursement process becomes a success. Auditing eliminates the chances of delays, erroneous documentation, and fraud. Hence, it puts pressure on the coding and billing specialists to discharge their duties with professionalism, responsibility, and integrity. Without this, the reimbursement process cannot be managed well to enable the facility to achieve the desired results. That is the only way through which the organization can rely on reimbursement revenues to sustain its day-to-day operations.
