Name: Instructor: Course: Date: Sociology of Immigration Introduction Due to the nature of the global economy and political heat immigration has turned into a pressing issue experienced across the world. Immigration has influenced the history of many countries especially in America and perhaps turning into the most controversial topic of discussion. Despite the legality of immigration it has become a saddening trend across nations with the natives showing hostile receptions to these people. The motives of immigration into a country are no longer considered with the migrating individuals streaming annually. Arlie Russell an influential sociologist notes in her book "Strangers in Their Own Land” the political landscape during President Trump tenure and how the Americans push for their rights. From the author’s perspective the Native Americans feel like strangers in their own country with the immigrants taking over. The rate of the immigration of illegal immigrants has tarnished the focus of the citizens who are welcoming irrespective of their ability to host others. Consequently natives in the modern West have a different approach toward tolerance which explains the high occurrences of race and ethnic prejudice. The government has the mandate of regulating immigration to have a peaceful coexistence among the citizens. Works cited Aalberg Toril and Audun Beyer.
