Case Details Brenda is the supervisor of the city accounting department and is a very busy executive with heavy demands. She had just reviewed the work of one of her employees named John. The entire report was incorrect and would need to be redone. She just does not have time for this level of poor work performance. To complicate the matter, Brenda’s supervisor gave her a major project to be completed in three weeks. The rush on this project was coming from the city council that needed that report so they could make a significant decision at their monthly meeting. When Brenda’s supervisor gave her this assignment he said, ‘Look, Brenda, I know its short notice and you have other tasks but I need you to get this stuff done’. He also said, ’Why not let that new guy, you know, what’s his name… have him start on this.’ Brenda could see no other alternative.
