d. It is a long term investment for the development of an organization. A mentor is an experienced specialist who has ample experience in a certain field of an organization, who helps new workers to acclimatize to the organization and enhance their career growth by evaluating the results of their activities. There are several reasons encouraging mentoring in organizations Mentorship may be used for staff diversity enhancement, socialization, and development (Chao 2007; Eddy, Tannebaum& Given 2001) Mentorship can be used as a way of career advancement and on the job training (Cummings & Worley1997) The importance of mentorship can be viewed in several ways, for example, it widens one’s ability to view certain ideas. Through mentoring and developing other people a mentee acquires a sense of personal satisfaction because of supporting others and developing the organization.

Through mentorship, an organization is able to provide orientation to its workers. This would help maintain the culture and uphold the ethics of the organization. New workers are able to look up to the more experienced workers and to learn how things are done. Therefore, mentees are able to acquire new skills which apparently increases the productivity of an organization. A highly productive organization means the company is progressing well in its level best. They are able to work on the strengths of an organization due to adequate knowledge on the prior progress. The mentorship program is meant to be embraced by the entire organization. The following ways include why everyone in an organization would need mentoring. Note how it helps the organization.

The mentee acquires many skills and also improves his status in the company. This is because obviously not all employees who have worked for long qualify to be good mentors. Therefore we expect them to have the following values. Some features distinguishing a good mentor may include, but not limited to; Loyalty to the company; to be the carrier of key values of the organizational behavior and culture. Have a total understanding of the departmental duties and the goals of the whole organization. Have ample experience in the field of their line of career. It helps them to know how to handle their staff and how to deal with issues with the aim of making the best decision. These leaders are able to know when they should be subjective, objective or even authoritative.

They get to know how experienced managers built their strengths and how to work on their weaknesses for the betterment of the organization. This is why people and organizations benchmark from each other to enhance success. For an organization to prosper it needs skilled or trained workers. This makes the mentors notice their value and participation in an organization. CONCLUSION Mentoring is an investment in the long term development of the organization. This is evident because some experience is usually acquired with time. Definitely, mentors have worked for so many years hence, they have remarkable experience that they would use to mentor other people. It guarantees to be on track because the workers are exposed to fewer risks since the mentors have both sides of circumstances that come in their line of duty.
