These two types of food primarily differ in content. Consequently, they have different effects on the human body. The nutrients within regular food will ensure that the energy and nutrients that the body requires are in the right quantities, thus a healthy lifestyle. Fast food on the other hand have saturation of specific components, thus posing harm to the normal functioning of the body. Recent studies on fast food have recorded pieces of evidence from nutrition experts that claim that fast foods have been revolutionized in a way that they contain ‘healthy’ meals. Trans-fatty acids are primary contents in foods such as French fries and fast foods. These fats are such as kinds of margarine and frying oils that are created by hardening of marine and vegetable oils to form trans double bonds within the primary building blocks of lipids.

Consumption of just 5 grams of this type of fat increases the chances of being a victim of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) by approximately 30 percent (Stender et al. Given these facts, it is important to look into the health reparations of fast foods. The ingredients within junk food are chosen in a way that the final combination is addictive. However, the blood sugar will come down as quickly as it spiked up. The lack of sufficient glucose in the body eventually leads to type 2 diabetes. This is unlike regular food that ensures different classes of food are in the body in their required quantities. Consequently, people that depend on regular food are likely to have a higher immune system. In the same line, cholesterol and salt trigger a type of blood pressure that easily causes heart diseases.

With claims of fast foods being unhealthy, fast food restaurants that are frequented have taken an extra step to assure their clients of the safety surrounding the food. Each food on the menu is accompanied by a clear identification of the ingredients and the quantities in which they exist. Such a step ensures that the clientele is aware of what they intend to introduce to their bodies. The use of salads is also an ingenious way to ensure that the clientele population introduces essential nutrients into their bodies. Consequently, fast foods are responsibly trying to ensure that they are offering healthy food to their clients. There is a lot of scientific evidence that looks into the popular ingredients of fast foods and the consequences they have on the human body.
