This paper discusses the solutions that address the problems associated with access to adequate health care related to mental health. The initial solution is to lower the cost of healthcare to make access to health care related to mental conditions more available for the populations with higher risks. The populations that are a higher risk of the challenges of access to health care related to mental illness are the low-income earners, the homeless people and the individuals that are chronically ill. According to Vancampfort et. al (2015), these populations are at a higher risk of having mental illnesses as they suffer from major depressions, mood, dysthymic and bipolar disorders. spent up to 17. 8% of the gross domestic product (GDP) on healthcare where $193 billion is lost in earnings per annum to serious mental illnesses. The insurance ties to the workplace have affected the access to health care related to mental illness in various ways. al, 2017). Also, there are limited providers of the care for persons with mental conditions as well as hospitals that take care of patients with mental illnesses which limit the access to mental care. According to Silverman et. al (2015), the mental health patients are less preferred over private insurance by providers. To solve the challenges of costs in mental health care provision this paper recommends various solutions. al (2015), the annual deductibles should be limited to not more than $1,500 and $3000 for individuals and families respectively.

The limitation on deductibles ensures that the persons being insured for mental illnesses are not exploited. The existence of Medicare coverage should be simplified through the adaptation of some of the same cost-saving practices used by private insurances. The billing process should be standardized to reduce the complexity of Medicaid coverage. Lastly, it is critical to provide better alternatives to sponsored health plans for employees to improve insurance coverage for mental illnesses. Relevant personnel should perform a better job in the documenting and performing follow up the recovery for patients after they have been discharged from emergency rooms. The health providers should take an approach of entirety through the provision of more therapy programs and community outreach for the populations with high risk.

There should be the promotion of more intervention and accountability to patients to ensure that the care given to them is appropriate. To rehabilitate the patients of mental illness due to the use of substances, the government should enhance t creation of more jobs programs to reduce unemployment as well as idleness.
