It occurs between two or more parties that are opposing each other in social interaction. The contemporary American society is structured in ways that benefit some people at the expense of the majority and this contributes towards social conflict. Besides, factors like sex, race, age, and class are also directly correlated with social inequality. Today, various types of conflicts exist within the American culture. They include racial conflict, ethnic-religious conflict, and class conflict. A perfect example is racial conflicts where White police officers have shot African Americans and this is largely fueled by racial prejudice and this has increased the enormity between the two groups. 2- Are they productive conflicts and does the violence produces the results for those who want it? Although social conflict might proliferate into violence, which has disastrous impacts on the lives of many members of the society, some of these conflicts are productive to those who want it.
