Both food insecurity and homelessness are the symptoms of poverty in all forms and they are what actually force people to come up with unethical means to acquire the basic needs (Hodza, 2012). However, there are a number of strategies that have been put in place by the community, government and NGO’s with the purpose of providing services for both the homeless and those with food insecurities within communities. The Bare Foot Foundation and Anti-Poverty Committee Two of the well-known organizations that deal with Human capital development are The Bare Foot Foundation and Anti-Poverty Committee. These organizations use HCD to combat food insecurity within. The purpose of these programs is to allow the target individuals to seek better employment opportunities which will result to an increased earning potential.

The Big Issue Foundation and Bill Wilson Center The Big Issue Foundation and Bill Wilson Center are some of the many organizations that have come up with homeless shelters with the aim of providing temporary residence for the individuals with no roof over their heads. As much as these organizations provide the homeless with the shelters, it does not provide a permanent solution to the homeless. Instead, the shelters are meant to serve as a bridge to buy time until they can be able to get a house for themselves. Within these shelters, they are provided with food while being guided and taught on skills that will help them fend for themselves later in time (Kanel, 2014). Since shelters are a necessary part of the existing system, the involved parties ought to respond immediately to homelessness while they work on finding long term solutions.
