Order Description:

This is my Topic introduction: Today’s technology has grown beyond the mandated electronic medical record and is prevalent from pre-hospital care, hospitals and is extending into communities. Health information is now stored in computer programs and applications, such as electronic health records (EHRs) and personal health records (PHRs) that enable doctors, other providers and consumers to record a patient’s medical history electronically. This data can then track quality and public health information as well as be exchanged between providers and the patient within a network. Information kept in electronic form is easily accessible to the patient, his or her providers, or to providers in any other health care settings who might be treating the same patient or fulfilling a patient’s prescription orders. The obstacles that impact a providers’ ability to work together to coordinate care, monitor patient safety and deliver health care efficiently depends largely on the system, the particular network used and/or the management of the health information system. By utilizing a well-designed health information system the quality and efficiency of health care improves, this in turn supports care providers and patients with the right information at the right time through the appropriate applications. Having this data places them in a better position to make more informed medical decisions, improve quality and safety, and have faster access to patient information in an emergency or natural disaster as well as an overall reduction of healthcare cost. Also elaborate on how has technology changed pre-hospital care. Add Statistical data to support topic. APA format , cite all work
