Many Americans on the Fourth of July will take the chance of reading the Declaration of Independence which is a very long document. This document will try and bring out the feelings of patriotism. The truths we hold are believed to be self-evident showing that every man was created equal to others and the Creator has endowed them with Rights that are unalienable certain some of which is liberty pursuing happiness and life among others. Both liberty and life are self-evident indeed. All men are equal by nature (Jefferson). Nature also tries and gives every person the rights of preserving their own property which include liberty and life. Attempts of other people and injuries which occur from the estate are also examples of a person's property. George Mason who was a fellow patriot to Jefferson put out tried to examine the link which is between homicide that is overall and ownership of household guns the suicide which is overall both gun suicide and homicide in almost 21 countries. Correlations that were significant to ownership of household guns and gun suicide rates for both genders and rates of gun homicide which involved female victims were also found. No correlations that are significant were detected for suicide and homicide total rates and also rates of gun homicides which involved human victims. Works Cited Ciocchetti Corey.
