Both risk tolerance and sensitivity indicate that people are aware of the different risks and have various responses to them, however, there are times that humans are not aware of the different risks but tolerate them unknowingly (Newsome, 2017). There are people who have more tolerance to risk than others, although it is not implied that they are not sensitive to the risks but may have tolerance levels to risks than others or are sensitive to a certain. On the other hand, risk sensitivity is prone to change and as such a person might change their perspective of a risk as time progresses (Newsome, 2017). An example of risk sensitivity is terrorism; people are often sensitive to terrorist attacks because they are not in their control.
