The result is the extinction of plant species that serve man and wild animals as food. The reduction of food for plants and animals causes conflict in competition for the scarce resources (Robbins, Hintz & Moore, 120). The result is violence, migration, social decay, unemployment and disease. Air pollution is a major cause for respiratory diseases and climate change (Robbins, Hintz & Moore, 17). Harmful substances such as smog in the air find themselves in human and animal respiratory systems that cause disease and cost society heavily in treatment and management (18). Besides, the pollution of water can kill populations and introduce terminal diseases such as cancer. In summary, therefore, environmental pollution has an impact on all life in the universe in a vicious circle that leads to conflict, disease, migration, social change, and social ills.
