Student’s name Professor’s Name Course Date The Canary Effect Canary Effect is a documentary film that profoundly illustrates the effects of the United States policies on the native people of America. The title refers to a statement by legal scholar comparing the action towards the Native Americans to the atmospheric role of miner’s canaries. The film is directed by Davey and Thunder members and artists of the pop group based in LA. It is premiered at the Tribeca film festival. This documentary aims at raising awareness of the misinterpreted story of the Native Americans and it follows the abuses drilled upon the Indigenous people of North America by the government of the United States. It is an overview of the past deeds of American ancestors education to the people in the reservations. Additionally the government should create platforms equip them with professional doctors and counselors to help the traumatized and depressed people through guidance and counseling. This will help reduce the cases of suicide by the Native Americans. The documentary was a great success because it shows profoundly in great insight what prevailed compared to the history books. It acts as an eye-opener on a lot of things about the Native Americans which the government tries to conceal from the public. In my opinion I feel that what happened to the Native Americans is terrible and hope the best for the Native Americans. Work cited Davey R. & Woman T.
