The author applies Bitzer’s ideal for exploration and practical and rhetorical suggestions are created. The author begins her article by providing some contextual information on the present debate concerning abortion and the rights of the women (Swift 57). Swift goes through the qualifications of a rhetorical situation. She argues that exigence is palpable because of the ongoing debate the audience is the parties that are for or against abortion since wonder if it is good to state a personal belief in the public space of a t-shirt. This because abortion is a personal decision and not a legal debate. It communicates a decision that may appear to be controversial and shameful to many people. In evaluating the possible value of these pieces (especially as you read them together), reflect on the extent to which they develop similar themes, have different opinions about something, and/or raise implicit or potential questions that could be applied to the other piece.
