The doctor had to consult the nurses who were checking on the patient on the two shifts, and they were blaming each other and the nurse who attends the patient during the day said that the other nurse did not take the patients conditions seriously and the patient missed the night medications almost every night. This was not a good thing, and the family member of the patient said he was to fight for the rights of his patient and he was to complain to the hospital board. It was not a simple case for me as a nurse leader, and I had to solve the conflict between the two nurses and also the family member as soon as possible. According to (Marquis & Huston, 2017) there are various conflict management styles.

Therefore, I considered the collaborative style as the effect on for handling this kind of conflict. In summary, the strategy of competing would also apply by handling the situation without the seeking corporation from the nurses especially if the patient health conditions have deteriorated. Indeed, managing the conflict as a leader contributes to my effectiveness since I can lead people as a good example. This also helps me in my decision making as no conflict can arise to be a barrier and am unable to manage it.
