He emphasizes that people ought to ensure that they obey an unaccountable sovereign and that the state of nature is almost similar to civil war. Locke, on the other hand, has distinct ideas in political philosophy that are different from those of Hobbes. He asserts that the government needs to be limited to ensuring the safety of people and property and its necessity is due to the state of nature. However, comparing work from the philosophers is challenging since they have various views and opinions but their internal consistency should be applauded. Two treatises are discussed by Locke in order to raise various arguments. Hobbes states that man cannot survive in an institutional set-up because human nature dictates that individuals should have a coercive government because of their nature which makes them disregard laws of nature.
