The adoption of the Articles of Confederation marked the culmination of the Revolutionary War. However, contrary to the expectations of the Americans, especially the agitators of the war, the Articles of Confederation could not solve the problems. The Americans had to devise a novice way of improving governance by adopting the constitution to promote best practices in the way the Americans ought to be governed. Thus, the American Revolution conceived the Articles of Confederation which in turn led to the adoption of the American Constitution. The American Revolution was triggered by an array of issues that the Americans wanted to be addressed. According to the plan under the Articles of Confederation, the executive committee controlling the affairs of the federal government could consist of three persons (Wolfe and Kerry 98).

Ideally, an executive committee consisting of three people could be so weak to learn the federal government effectively. The Americans could not withstand the fact that one person had too much power like a king instead of expanding the government for efficient governance. As a result, the Americans needed a new plan of government to address the emerging challenges. The new plan of government was the adoption of the American Constitution to solve the problems that began to crop up.
