The film explores the relations of dockworkers Terry Malloy (Marlon Bando) and Rod Steiger (Marlon’s brother) as they deal with internal and external forces that ultimately set them apart. The film fits into Thriller genre. Thriller genres usually offer high degrees of intrigue adventure and or suspense. Moreover the origins of the thriller genre can be traced to the epic poems of give prospective audiences certain expectations. These expectations can be but not limited to intrigue and adventure.
