Order Description:

Problem Analysis Everywhere you go, you find problems. At home, at work, and even at school, unfortunately, problems get in the way of productivity. As you know, a university is a place of learning, but it is also a business. If a school does not manage its resources well, then it will likely end up having to shut its doors due to lack of students, lack of teachers, or lack of funding. Resources, especially in the case of a university, doesn’t only mean money. A university’s resources includes all of the people, equipment, buildings, land, policies, information, and other things that work together to achieve the goals of the school. One of the primary resources that a university must manage is its campus. A campus is not just buildings and land, it is also departments made up of people and policies. Consider yourself a consultant hired by President Hynes to report the most pressing problem on campus. In order to complete your consulting assignment you will have to do some research. While that research may start with your own thoughts about the most pressing problems at Clayton State, it should be confirmed by the thoughts of other people. Once you have considered your task, beginning with your own thoughts about campus problems, and conducted at least two interviews, conduct web-based library research to get a broader understanding of the problem. Finally, write a report addressed to President Hynes or the staff or faculty person who is closest to the problem. To summarize, you will begin your task by researching and analyzing the problem and end by presenting the problem in a letter to President Hynes or the campus leader who is closest to the problem. Below I offer you some steps toward completing this assignment. Step 1: Think of a problem on campus that needs attention Step 2: Interview 2 people from your school to get their opinions on the issue Step 3: Conduct a reader analysis Step 4: Use Clayton State library databases to conduct text-based research to determine the extent of the problem in your context. Step 5: Writer a letter discussing the problem. The letter must include at least one quote, at least one paraphrase, and at least one summary from your source(s). You must also include the opinions of your interviewees in the letter Step 6: Submit the letter to Dr. Greene via the dropbox. Please see the letter format below. Problem Analysis Format Abstract  Purpose of report  Summary of problems covered in report discussion Body  Background on source of problems  Well-organized description of problems observed  Data that support your observations  Consequences of the problems Conclusion  Brief restatement of the main problems (unless report is so short that restatement would be repetitious)  Degree of urgency required in handling problems  Suggested next step
