According to Mwachofi (2011), market forces allocate resources in the healthcare adequately yet the involvement by the government distorts such allocation. SSIs happen in 2-5 percent of the patients undergoing surgery. About 160, 000- 300,000 cases of SSI occurs in the US each year. SSI is today the most common and most expensive to treat Healthcare-associated Infection (HAI). However, the routine preoperative decolonization containing mupirocin with no screening is not recommend. Some doctors are today seeking alternatives for surgeries. Such is in the case of the Knee replacement surgery where the stem cell experiment is being used. Here, the bone marrow from the hip are being used to regenerate knee tissues. It is recommended that discontinuing the patients in 24 hours after the surgery is done and adjusting the dosage according to the weights of the patients.
