Name Institution Professor Date Solutions for Data Management I wish to make the following recommendations to the Executive that will see the company improve on its data management systems. The Executive should eliminating legacy data storage systems. This is because it is incompatible with the latest storage technologies. It is therefore inefficient and of no use to the industry. Most of the current technology cannot handle legacy file formats. Running legacy software on antiquated hardware may be very expensive to the company. It is actually cheaper to replace both the software and the hardware than maintaining the software. Repairing becomes cumbersome because the staffs who were experts in that field either retired or may have forgotten what they knew. Staff who came after the system never learnt about it making it difficult to find a person to repair the system. There are also high chances that there is no will help in saving company's resources. This is because maintenance costs such as repair costs are reduced. The above recommendations will solve some of the problems that are associated with data management. I hope the above recommendations will be considered and acted upon. Works Cited Dunn S. & Kelbie P. (1997). U.S. Patent No. 5 668 991. Washington DC: U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Seacord R. C.
