Why do the natives attach significant importance to their native language? • Important events noted: • Children affiliated to Zuni Pueblo traveled for miles to come and recite the Pledge of Allegiance in English and then in their language—Zuni. • The Head Start has a language immersion segment to teach children their native language—Zuni. Learning of Zuni organized by language coaches and relevant authorities Thesis Native language and culture are critical for any community as they unite people with commonalities and give them a sense of belonging because of the shared values. Introduction Every community finds utility when they unite to celebrate the diversity of their language and culture. The Indian Americans are one of the largest groups of Native Americans and they mark the significant events of convening and celebrating the milestones of their language development yearly.
