It is not possible for the PPGs to pass through the permeable material at this ratio. However introducing a threshold pressure will help in breaking down the PPGs so that they pass through the porous material. The Breakage-passage pattern for the 2.56 ratio was supported by monitoring the size of the PPGs in the effluent. At a porosity of 58 Darcy the ratio increased significantly. This indicates that entrapment was the dominant mechanism for retention. As such a rapid increment in retention was observed. [...]
