Health Economics: Milrinone use in patient enrolled in hospice care

Milrinone is a medication that is used to treatment patient with CHF. It is an expensive medication There is an ethical debate about the use in patient who are already in hospice care; (1) is it worth spending tax payers money(medicare) on expensive medication for pt who have prognosis of less than 6 months (2)is it okay to deny patient care they need because of money I have an attachment with the rubric and an example of the presentation. I choose this topic because I work parttime as a hospice nurse and I see management struggle with allowing Milrinone use or not, depending on pt insurance and other factors.
