Nonetheless, the article evaluates the problem and offers recommendations. The key strategic message of the article is that the success of an organization is highly influenced by follower satisfaction and good leadership. On leadership principles, the article compares transactional and transformational leadership styles for effectively managing federal government bodies. These styles are in line with Chapter 7’s information on the role of power on empowering followers and their overall performance. In addition, the impacts of the leadership styles on various aspects of an organization are also covered in the text. The model founded within Bass theory I no doubt a substantial part of leadership research, but a tried and tested insight into what leaders face in working towards an objective especially in an organizational setting or scenario (Trottier, Van Wart & Wang 2008).

The theories according to the authors, works in tandem with Maslow’s theory that is in many ways, a motivational aspect of management. According to the theory, both transactional and transformational leadership form the basis of the full range Leadership. By combining transactional and transformational leadership into one school of thought, the authors present a unified approach to two types of leadership that are not only in tandem but share several elements that are critical in their analogy and practical approach to management (Trottier, Van Wart & Wang 2008). For example, transformational leadership is much echoed in situations such as those that empower subordinates on teamwork, mutual trust, power sharing, in addition to supportive relationships (Andrew 2001). However, it is no doubt that leadership demands for numerous aspects of servanthood and functional elements of empowering subordinates.
