Emerging Technologies Name: Course: Instructor: Institution: Date: Abstract It is explicit beyond any shadow of doubt that the proliferation of diverse technologies most notably educational technologies across the globe has escalated exponentially for the previous ten decades. In particular new education technologies are emerging in order to replace the relatively old and obsolete technologies. In reference to Business Dictionary it defines emerging technologies as a novel technology which is presently being developed or will be established in the subsequent five to ten years. This novel technology will significantly transform both the social educational political and business environment. Moreover the emerging technology will encompass man-machine communication wireless data communications information technology bio-technology and advanced robotics. On the other hand according to Wellington emerging technologies denotes technologies that have the potential to alter the status quo. Attributes of these technologies entail coherence radical novelty profound impact relatively fast growth ambiguity and is evident. For instance as of 1870s typewriters were an emerging technology. As of 1930s typewriters were already an emerged and established technology. Notwithstanding introduction of personal computers in the early 1980s gradually displaced typewriters in the market. By mid 2000s typewriters had become an obsolete technology in that it was no longer relevant as compared to the new technology in the market. To this end it is therefore explicit that a technology becomes obsolete when it does not solve the present problems effectively. References BIBLIOGRAPHY Ballenger B. (2017). Return to the Typewriter.
