American Civil War Essay
Amy Murrell Taylor takes a look at the letters, diaries, newspapers and government documents to give us a glimpse of how relatives survived with the interference of war in their lives. Most central figures were divided from a family associate. This included Confederates Robert E. Lee, Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson and their merger counterparts U. Those that did, came back maimed or permanently disabled unable to play the role of the bread winner of the family. For the first time women who had been left by their husbands now had step up and provide for the families. The social war exaggerated lives of all children. It was an exciting time for white children in the north. To the white children in the south it imposed hardships and limitation while African American children had their lives changed forever.
