It is a practice that is bound by unity, the act of working for the common goal and unity of purpose. The patients are able to get quality health care. This is because collaboration helps in promoting a good working environment that will better the service delivery to the patients. Patients can also be given timely serves as the workers in a hospital unit are working together for the common goal in a health unit. It also creates a personalized relationship between the patients and the nurses who will be working together for the common good of the general health unit (Stephen, 2015) The collaboration, on the other hand, can be also helpful beneficial to the organisation. Barriers to Effective Interdisciplinary Collaboration One of the core barriers to interdisciplinary collaboration is unshared objectives and goals. When the goals and the objectives are different, the setting is likely to be in disarray as they are not working for a common goal. Poor communication strategy is also another thing that can hinder effective interdisciplinary collaboration. It is a crucial tool that is very important for the realisation of the goals and the objectives of any organisation. It helps both the patients and the general workforce in the organization to work for the common goals in the health unit and for the realisation of the core objectives of the health unit.
