I also believe that Jesus Christ defeated both death and sin and that there is life after death which begins when we physically die. What does suffering means to the patient? Suffering to me means experiencing mental distress or physical pain. Mostly suffering is a consequence of sin and flawed nature. It is multifaceted since it has many faces; it equips us for ministry as well as preparing us for more glory. Most times when am suffering suicidal thoughts fill me up, I then seek help from my pastor who helps me in forgetting about such thoughts and instead I gain renewed strength and hope. There were various challenges that inhibited the ability to complete the assessment tool as listed below.

This assessment focussed on the responses given by the interviewee thus achieving legitimacy and credibility was quite difficult in the sense that there wasn’t a standard way to determine whether the interviewee was being honest or not. The other challenge is that the outcomes of the assessment involved analyses that solely depended on the interviewee response; this in turn would generate diverse opinions of the patient thus compromising the credibility. The assessment was also not designed in a manner that accommodated broad participation as well as the level of communication, hence it was limiting, which in turn affected the responses provided (Hodge, 2011). In future I would change this assessment so that it can address the following challenges by doing the following.

This was really helpful since it made the interviewee open up more which in turn helped me in the analysis. It also helped me in relating to the interviewee’s progress by analysing the responses given and in providing the right interventions that my patient can follow in accordance with her personal spiritual needs (Borneman & Puchalski, 2010). This assessment tool helped me in discovering that both illness and stress increased the spiritual needs of the interviewee in various ways. One of the ways is when I asked her what dying means she responded by critically analysing the relationship that exists between physical and spiritual death. Also when I asked her the sources of her strength and hope she responded by saying she draws both hope and strength from God, mostly by reading the Bible and praying.
