Name: Course: Instructor: Date: Switching from Petrol to Electric Cars It is explicit beyond any reasonable doubt that the rate at which the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is switching from petroleum to electric cars is quite alarming. Electric vehicles refers to automobiles which are boosted by electric motors with the assistance of the electric energy preserved in rechargeable batteries. Bearing in mind that the UAE has always been ranked as among the leading oil production countries across the globe. Switching into electric cars is somewhat a blow to the petroleum industry. Shifting to electric cars escalated further after the announcement by the Crown Prince of Dubai His Highness Sheik Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE as well as the ruler of Dubai where he propagated for the Dubai Green Mobility Initiative as one of the pillar of the Dubai Clean of Electric Vehicles will create new job employment especially in the battery manufacturing sector but at the same time leading to job loss in the companies producing petrol powered cars. Moreover electric vehicles will affirm that the transportation industry will be sustainable in the long-run by using relatively clean energy which does not jeopardize future generations.
