Globalization has boosted the production of goods and services, quality and accessibility, but its negative impact on the environment cannot be swept under the carpet. Positive effects Global market Most of the state-owned firms in the developed and developing nations are being privatized. The private firms tap on the latest technology and the upgraded transport system to reach out to consumers across the borders. The process has increased production and reduction of prices. On the other hand, globalization has shaped business management by bringing on board more producers leading to an increase in products, lower cost of production and prices (Thoumrungroje & Tansuhaj, 2007). The stiff competition in the market has paved way for high-quality products. (Cuñat & Guadalupe, 2009). Nowadays companies target to produce high-quality goods and services to meet the demands of clients.

The competition in the market pitting local and foreign market leads to a situation survival for the fittest contest benefitting consumers.   Employment Individuals from different nations compete for employment opportunities across the world. The process is effective since firms achieve common goals and objectives through a virtual environment. Negative effects Globalization has ushered in the consumption of some products that negatively affects the environment. Local produced goods and products are rarely consumed. People nowadays consume foods from developed foreign nations. All products from the foreign market are accessible through the supply and chain system. Mountains are now destroyed to pave way for passing highway or tunnel. Encroachment of vast lands is common for the latest building (Speth, 2003).   Human beings may celebrate the innovations and advancements but the long-term environmental pose major challenges.

Industries use plastic bags to pack their products and also for the preservation of goods to be exported (Clapp, 2002). The use of plastic bags has increased and led to widespread environmental pollution (Hahladakis et al, 2018). Through interaction pitting different nations, business growth has been recorded and also employment opportunities created.   Technology innovation has also been adopted as a result of globalization across the world. Goods and products are manufactured using sophisticated equipment within a short duration. Similarly, the quality of goods and services have improved as a result of stiff competition. Different companies work around the clock to produce quality goods and services to meet the demands of customers. Also, producing healthy foods and avoiding the use of plastic bags will be effective in the process of saving the environment.
