Some of the aspects looked at in demographic assessment include deaths, population distribution, size, and composition in sentinel city. Additional aspects such as ethnicity, race, gender distribution and religion are also significant during a demographic assessment (Eileen, 2018). Sentinel city is made up of four communities namely, Industrial Heights, Nightingale Square, Acer Tech Centre and Casper Park District. The overall population of Sentinel City is at 668, 862. The community with the highest population is Casper Park District recording a population of 352, 643, followed by Acer Tech Centre with 168,390. 091 with Nightingale recording the highest at $269. The community recording the lowest median income is Industrial Heights at $24. 672, a possible reason why it has a majority of its population under 65yrs being uninsured. Neighborhood/community Safety Inventory Community safety inventory tool was used to analyze the psychosocial, environmental and physical hazards within sentinel city.

Information was thus obtained through observation and interviewing some community members. The common means of transportation within the communities is the use of buses and cars. However, some people can be seen walking and others riding bikes. The community of Nightingale has good roads favoring the use of bikes whereas those of Industrial Heights are damaged. Sentinel city is very vibrant, supermarkets and grocery shops are strategically positioned in accessible areas (‘Sentinel City’, 2018). For instance, Nightingale square has an ABC Daycare, grocery, bookstore and coffee shop all which offer the necessary services needed. The incidence of high poverty due to low incomes particularly in the communities of Industrial Heights is linked to low education. As a result, such people need government assistance to sustain them.

Medicaid, for instance, is one of the avenues through which the government offers medical services to the people of sentinel city. Another concern was environmental pollution and poor sanitation. Stray animals rummaging through the litters are a risk to infection with various diseases (‘Centre for Disease Control and Prevention’, 2018). Another problem is incidence of crime attributed to substance abuse. Burglary, theft, and rape are some of the common criminal activities. Sentinel city health report indicates smoking as one of the contributors to lung cancer. One of the themes of the healthy people 2020 is to promote quality life and positive behavior throughout life stages (‘Healthy People 2020’, 2018). As a result, there is need to eliminate activities that could impair the quality of life.
