Managing Diversity in Workplace Student’s Name University Affiliation Executive Summary As the management of local community health center we have received valuable information from our clients relating to the downfall in the number of patients attending our clinic. Our facility was opened sometime back and the number of patients received was okay and considerable but after some time the numbers started to go down. This led to worry among the management board where we did some fact –gathering and gained valuable information that the community is worried by the cultural diversity of our staff and there is a concern that no one from the clinic comes from the culture of the people around the facility. Based on this information this paper will address ways of addressing and managing the cultural diversity in the hospital and come up with a detailed plan of addressing the issue and restoring the clinic’s diversity of the company. The same is what is being done in this situation where the various workers will come from the locality of the facility and other neighboring areas. Conclusion Cultural diversity is an emerging issue in the various industries and companies. Globalization has enabled growth of global business and sometimes-multinational corporations are putting up businesses in countries and localities that hold toxic cultural affiliation. For the business to thrive the workforce and management of such company need to culturally competent and sensitive to appeal positively among the locals. References Albrecht M. H. (2011). Use the following case study as the basis of this assessment. Imagine you are the manager of a new health care facility satellite office or community outreach center located in a diverse neighborhood. The parent organization opened the facility to address the under-served health care needs of the culturally diverse residents who were not using the services offered at the main facility. The first month of operation saw a very high volume of patients, but since then, the numbers have dropped off drastically. Executive leadership wants to understand why this has happened and what you plan to do about it. After careful examination of all aspects of the facility, and talking with some of the neighborhood residents, you have determined that the residents do not feel comfortable coming to the facility, because the staff does not represent the diversity of the neighborhood. Staff members were hired for their skill, but their diversity was not considered. Now, you must report to executive leadership what you have learned and how you intend to manage diversity. •Use the Executive Report Template, linked in the Resources, to draft your report. You may also organize the content of your report in a format used in your organization. An abstract is not required. •Your report should be 4–5 double-spaced pages in length, not including the title page and reference page. •Apply correct APA formatting to all in-text citations and references. •Use Times New Roman, 12-point font.
