Preconceived Views Coursework

This had been influenced mostly by the movies and cartoons I watched as a kid where the villains sometimes became mad after being defeated by the heroes and were then thrown into mental asylums. Thus, growing up I feared to visit mental asylums because I feared mentally ill individuals. However, after entering high school and advancing my education coupled with my experience in healthcare, I can now attest that mental illness is brought about by many factors such as stress and depression and most times it is not the fault of the individuals that they are sick. Thus, I sometimes volunteer in mental hospitals to take care of the sick and assist them in their recovery efforts. Unfortunately, some individuals still hold preconceived notions even in adulthood.
