According to Erik Erikson suggest that this is the time that one is supposed to find the importance and the meaning of satisfaction in an individual’s life rather than becoming bitter and disillusioned. Physical changes are one of the factors that must be experienced in late adulthood. It is reviewed through the lack of strength and endurance to the normal activities that an individual used to carry out. Also, psychological changes may accompany to some degree of deteriorate of the brain and a diminution in the rate of the neural progressions. Having the aged in society is important as the youths can be able to learn from them. They end developing low self-esteem, emotional well-being, and behavior. Other stereotypes include being taken as useless people who do not have much benefit to society, old people feel dependent and non-contributing to society.

Once an older person gets to learn this and how people usually value them, they start developing measures in memory and competence due to stereotypes effects. Individuals can promote health and wellness into late adulthood through the activities that one decides to be engaged at while at old age. Late adulthood is characterized by changes that start occurring in the body. This improves the wellness of the individual as creating a more chance of avoiding risk factors that may be fatal later. Getting enough sleep helps one to save from cardiovascular diseases and fatigue. This increases the body effect of the body which is also a form of wellness. A healthy diet is another factor that promotes the health and wellness of the body.

It avoids one from getting diseases that come as a result of not having the necessary nutrients, vitamins among others in the body. Emotional support helps in making them feel that they are not alone and they are still valued. Also, these relationships must be those that show responsibility in every means. One must ensure that there is no physical harm that occurs to the elderly. Physical harm is very dangerous as they can lead to a quick death as the body does not have much strength to keep on fighting the injuries that may be caused to the body. Individual views on death are different as people are based on different cultures as well as personal attitudes about the subject.
