Summary and Analysis Rhymes Songs and Nonsense “Lullabies and Baby Songs” (Anthology 1132-47) The baby songs and lullabies contained in this anthology have multiple properties in common in regard to their content and structure. For instance although some of them contain content found in day-to-day activities most of them have imagined and fantasy content. An important property of these songs is their rhythm whereby even those that contain nonsense content like Jabberwocky communicate a rhythmic message to the child. In this case in these children songs the content need not be comprehensible to an adult although some do contain logical information. Another property of baby songs and lullabies is that they are repetitive in order to remain rhythmic and emphasize their message. Although some of these songs are used to date their content has been altered considerably to reflect the modern-day focus on learning rather than entertainment. Lewis Carroll’s Jabberwocky of human life. The story manages to entertain and introduce an aspect of mystery to the humdrum of day-to-day life. George R.R. Martin’s The Last Super Bowl Game (1012-24) Martin sets The Last Super Bowl Game in theoretical future and explores the possible implications of technology on football. The author indicates that in future people will prefer to watch the simulated game and abandon the real-life one. In his story Martin indicates that the simulation technologies will result in loss of interest in the game. Although his predictions may come to pass at the moment simulations have had the opposite effect on the game whereby even more people are taking an interest in it as players fans and investors.
