The protagonist in the story of an hour is Mrs. Mallard who happens to be a classic of the Nineteen Century. Mrs. Mallard appears to have many of the traditional traits that demonstrate heroines during her time she also explains to be another wife after she hears the death of her husband whereby she is not only shocked by the information she receives but also seems to be happy just because she will have freedom. On the other hand, the antagonist is Mr. Therefore, the occurrence produces a comical tone since Sammy's tone is humorous. Furthermore, the story is narrated in the first person who is Sammy at the same time the main character. Additionally, the theory in the "Battle Royal" is the conflict between the white and the black cultures as well as the main character.
