One's intention to explore the unknown has the capacity to turn bad

It is clear from the very beginning that, human’s natural instinct to know more normally ends up disappointing and hurting people. In both Robert Louis Stevenson’s Strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley’s Frankenstein, the main characters explore beyond the boundaries of humanity and it ends badly for both of them. Frankenstein, is about a scientist by the name of Victor Frankenstein. Hyde. At first, Dr. Jekyll can control this transformation but he starts transforming without using the portion. Later Mr. Hyde gains more power over Jekyll and he ends up killing a man and later committing suicide when he realizes that his evil side is in control. Frankenstein loathes his creation the instant he sets his eyes on it.

After working for almost two years and depriving himself of rest and health. He says that the beauty of a dream vanished and horror and disgust filled his heart, (Shelley, 45). If only they never started their projects to make various changes in the human body, all these things would not be happening to them. The need for Jekyll and Frankenstein to surpass knowledge causes stress beyond repair. He leaves the room because he cannot stand the creature. When he retires to his bed, he gets nightmares and when the creature finds him in bed. He rans off and finds shelter in the court-yard of his house. Frankenstein continues to regret saying that the dream that had been his food and rest for so long now became hell to him.

He says that the change was rapid and the overthrow complete, (Shelley, 46). He later joins Utterson in pursuit of the truth. Later Mr. Hyde/Dr. Jekyll commits suicide when he can no longer live with the consequences of his research. Frankenstein on the other hand loses everyone he cared about. Exploring into the unknown abilities of the human body can be useful until it starts being more disastrous than it is good. Both character start their research out of good will. Dr. Jekyll desires to be a good person. He figures that by suppressing his evil side, he can be all good and comes up with a portion that could help suppress his evil desires. References Shelley, M.
