Failed Stars Essay
An example of a brown dwarf is the Tau Geminorum which is orange to a red star located in the zodiac constellation of Gemini. One does not need a telescope to view the star as it can be seen with a naked eye because of its apparent visual magnitude of +4. Its age is estimated to be 1. 220 billion years according to ExoPlanet. It has at least one extrasolar planets orbiting around it. Tau Geminorum has lithium in its core compared to Jovian planets which have hydrogen and helium gases inside them. Its atmosphere has auroras, storms, and clouds just as it is the case with the Jovian planets. This star produces its light, and this is a major difference with the Jovian planets because they do not produce their light (Kovari 97).
