Global warming and tourism today Name: Professor: Institution Course: Date: Introduction The word tourism comes from the word touring which means traveling to and staying in places far from your usual environment. It may be because of pleasure or business. Touring to different places apart from one's usual environment has become a common character amongst different individuals all over the world to an extent that it has been recognized as one the most popular activities in the world. In countries like Kenya tourism is the second foreign exchange earner. Unlike other activities like manufacturing which depends on raw products tourism solely depends on climate and that is why climate change is one of the major factors affecting tourism industry in the world. Some people argue that the flow of tourist around together with the activities they get involved in during their vacations emit toxic gases like carbon which leads to the greenhouse effect and in turn contribute to climate change. Rising sea level melting snowcaps and flooding are some of the effects of the climate change which have been witnessed to have a direct effect on the tourism industry. To help the world all nations and the tourism industries should put measures and policies which will protect the environment which is the major cause of climate change.
