Project Selection Student’s Name Course and Code Compare and contrast methods for selecting projects There are different methods utilized when choosing a project to embark on depending on the organization size of the project and managers involved in the process. However all these methods have one goal in common and that is selecting the project that will cost the organization the minimum while providing the organization with the highest profit levels (Larson and Gray 2013). There are two main categories for selecting projects. These are: benefit measurement methods and constrained optimization method. Most of time the resources (Burke 2013). A manager who does not understand the project selection period would forego all these benefits. For example if the organization is offered several projects this kind of manager would not use any analytical skills in selecting the project to undertake. This could put the organization at risk as on top of lower returns and higher costs they may be unable to complete the project. References Larson E. W. & Gray C. (2013).
